You America and I Japan… Fashion never sleeps!

Who would have thought two college friends could create an American brand like Proenza Schouler? Even though it seems like a script for a Hollywood comedy, designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez first met at the prestigious Parson’s School of Design in New York. They felt success in the air and decided to work on their Senior Thesis together and made the first Proenza Schouler collection.

New Women’s LookBook for spring-summer 2011: the Making-of

Last week we told you about the rising temperatures at the photo shoot of the new men’s wear lookbook, today femininity and vivid colours are the protagonists.  Gregori Civera is the one responsible for immortalizing the looks of our Dutch model Iris Van Berne. These looks will undoubtedly be a ”must” for the new season. Looks that take us back to the sixties and the office of the ”working girl” and glamorous cocktail parties of warm spring nights. Sandra Domínguez and our international stylist Sonia di Pietro are very clear on one point, this season we cannot let pass any opportunity that comes our way.

Loves me, loves me not, ¡loves me!

Like every year, Valentine’s Day encourages thousands of brands to launch their advertising campaigns to convince us that their product is the best gift, but like every year, none of them helps us to solve our dilemma: What I can buy for a person that deserves it all?

Our shop assistants Jesús and Dani would like to give an input to such a difficult choice presenting the must-haves this Spring Summer 2011 that you cannot miss.

New Arrivals: Lady Fluor

Orange, red, green, yellow, pink or electric blue… the most intense colours are the stars of the coming designs for the new season. Today our shop assistants reveal the latest news we’ve received at the store.

Red is a colour that is coming strong next season. The major brands have not been able to resist the temptation to include it in their new accessories proposals. The accessories are infallible, elegant and above all, blatantly red.

Maybe NY and BCN unite through the terraces

I told you I had visited Santa Eulalia but at that time I didn’t realize that I was hiding a secret desire of creating a real and concrete look there that would put my ability to see and try to the test. A Santa Eulalia look, but also a “Diario se Estilo” look. In this article you’ll see the result.

New Arrivals: Between shoe laces

This winter the ankle boots come with endless variations of laces, becoming the star of footwear this season. The shoe laces, far from sporty become more sophisticated when combined with leather and suede.

The seemingly simple trend has been reinterpreted in many different ways by the big fashion labels to suit all styles. For hyper-feminine women the ankle boots are sharpened, both at the toe and the heel; for the all-terrain woman, après-ski inspiration is key; for the lady-like woman the ankle boots take on a vintage touch; and to not lose glamour, this shoe maintains sophistication through the use of towering platforms.

New Arrivals:As a lady

This season, the trend is femininity from the past decades. Therefore, large firms pay tribute to the iconic women who wrote history from the lush 50′s to the more androgynous 70’s. The result is a new lady style which retains the discreet character and the elegant vanity that always defined this timeless look.

From Santa Eulalia, following expert advice from our salespeople, we propose three key items to follow the new lady dress code:

Proenza Schouler, the new eighties wave

The new Proenza Schouler collection is a clear tribute to the grunge aesthetic of the late eighties.

In the latest ad campaign the designers show a young woman with a slovenly look, lover of bands like Nirvana and dressed in skinny jeans with black and white graffiti prints. These jeans are the result of the collaboration with another American firm, J Brand, and will surely be a ‘must-have’ in every woman’s wardrobe. In the collection there is still room for their characteristic baby-doll dresses with psychedelic prints, this time combined with tailored jackets. The coats are also there, with exaggerated leather appliqués and combined with evasé miniskirts as well as the always original accessories.
