Prada is one of the best known “made in Italy” companies in the world of fashion. It was founded by Mario Prada in 1913 under the name “Fratelli Prada.” In 1978 with the arrival of his granddaughter Miuccia Prada the company took a radical turn.
Under the management of Miuccia the local fur and leather business became an international fashion company. The first Prada prêt-à-porter collection came in the autumn-winter of 1989. Since then they have managed to make their clothes the most desired ones among fashion magazine editors, top-models, Hollywood stars and chic people.
For this spring 2010 Prada plays with shades of gray. We like the use of cardigans and finely knitted vests to wear under the jacket as well as the fitted polo shirts in soft colours combined with grey cool wool trousers. The fantasy touch in this collection comes with the openwork effect: jackets and knitwear made with perforated fabrics, reminding us of the net fabric sport shirts, an effect also found in footwear.
